Role: Sample Preparer x3

Reporting: Laboratory Analyst

Job Purpose: To analyse samples submitted to the laboratory safely, and with the highest degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety inspections to ensure that all equipment is safe to use, and that subordinate staff work safely.
• Identify and report any unsafe practices and equipment to the Lab Analyst immediately.
• Ensure cleanliness of the laboratory and the application of good housekeeping practices.
• Report any insufficient chemicals and stock needed for the preparation laboratory in good time.
• Perform tasks from time as required by the Laboratory Analyst.
• Perform tasks from time as required by the Lab Analyst.
• Help with the maintenance of the Quality System.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, instructions, and methods of analysis.
• Ensure that the maintenance, calibration and verification of all apparatus, equipment and instruments are updated.
• Complete all quality related documentation as required per shift.
• Ensure the accuracy of all results.
• Ensure all paperwork in your area of responsibility is completed correctly.
• Report any non-conformances to the Lab Analyst.
• Aid the Lab Analyst in his duties related to the laboratory, as required.

Skills & Qualifications: –

• Grade 12 Certificate
• 2 years minimum laboratory sample preparation experience.
• Able to read and write
