The Judiciary is an arm of Government established under Part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is “To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner”. In order to improve service delivery, The Judiciary is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacancies.

Assistant Librarian: JSS 05 Salary Scale X 1 Positions (Annual Basic Salary of K53, 988.12), to be based in Livingstone

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be required to report to the Chief Librarian and will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Undertaking effectively the filing of books and other library materials in order to facilitate the maintenance and updating of libraries in The Judiciary:
  • Undertaking eflectively the collection and scanning of documentation and in order to facilitate the updating of content for the e-library,
  • Undertaking timely distribution of Acts, Gazette notices and newspapers in order to ensure information flow:
  • Undertaking effectively the issuing of books and reference materials to authorized users in order ensure accountability, and
  • Undertaking periodically the inclusion of amendments into Volumes of the Laws of the Republic of Zambia in all Judiciary Libraries in order to keep them current and complete.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Primary/Secondary Education
  • Full Form V/Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 O’levels including English
  • Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications
  • Diploma in Library and Information Studies or equivalent
  • Must be a member of Zambia Library Association
