The Judiciary is an arm of Government established under Part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is “To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner”. In order to improve service delivery, The Judiciary is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacancies.

Senior Officer – Performance Management Systems: JSS 09 Salary Scale X 1 Position (Annual Basic Salary of K 104,113.08), to be based in Lusaka Province. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be required to report to the Principal Officer – Performance Management and will be responsible for the following duties:

(i) Supervising and undertaking effectively the alignment of individual and organizational objectives in order to ensure that all the individual effort of employees lead to outcomes that enhance the achievement of the goals of the Institution;

(ii) Coordinating effectively the concluding of performance and development agreements between supervisors and employees in order to establish means of achieving objectives, raising standards, improving performance and developing the required competencies in the Institution;

(iii) Coordinating effectively the continuous process of performance management in order to provide a framework within which supervisors, individuals and teams work together in the best possible ways to gain better understanding of what is to be done, how it is to be done and what has been achieved

(iv) Supervising and developing effectively the methods of providing and generating feedback in order to identify where targets are being reached so as to provide the foundations for building further success, and determine where objectives are not being met, so that corrective action can be taken;

(v) Supervising and undertaking the timely development and management of performance improvement plans. coaching agendas, training materials, and progress tracking methods in order to promote consistency in the implementation of performance management systems in the Institution;

(vi) Supervising and undertaking electively the formulation and implementation of strategies and policies that aim to reward people fairly, equitably and consistently in order to recognize and reward their contribution to the Institution; and

(vii) Undertaking timely preparation and implementation of training plans for supervisors in order to equip them with appropriate knowledge, skills and attributes required to implement performance management in the Institution.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum Primary/Secondary Education
  • Full form V/Grade 12 Certificate with at 5 O’levels including English
  • Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications
  • Degree in Public Administration/Human Resource Management or equivalent
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
  • Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience
  • Two (2) years’ work experience
