CAMFED is a coalition of non-governmental organizations with its headquarters in Cambridge UK and works in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi. CAMFED’s mission is to multiply educational opportunities for girls and empower young women to become leaders of change. It was established in Zambia in 2001 and supports girls in Western, Luapula, Muchinga, Central and Northern Provinces, through school and tertiary education and helps them transform their lives and that of their communities through education and various empowerment programmes.

ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, the ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER will lead the planning and implementation of CAMFED’s Enterprise Development programme in Zambia in line with strategic and operating plans, and contribute to continuous programme learning and dissemination of these learnings across the CAMFED consortium. The Enterprise Development Manager should have extensive experience in supporting rural enterprises to succeed and bring a gender-sensitive approach to their work. They will ensure that high-quality, measurable and cost-effective deliverables are achieved within the stipulated time frame and in compliance with donor requirements. The post holder will be guided by CAMFED‘s organizational policies and uphold best safeguarding practice within CAMFED and across the wider partnership network.

Specific Accountabilities

Leading the planning, implementation and delivery of CAMFED’s Enterprise Development programme which includes:

  • Collaborate with colleagues at the district, national and international level and partners to implement approved annual/quarterly work/operating plans and budgets in compliance with donor requirements and CAMFED’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Build strong partnerships with service providers and government agencies; growing their awareness of the needs and capacity of rurally-based female entrepreneurs, and knowledge and uptake among the CAMFED Association entrepreneurs of business development support that is available.
  • Build a high-performing Enterprise Development team across CAMFED Zambia’s operations.
  • Develop the business development capacity and skills of CAMFED Association members through mentoring and training.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, relevant and complete programme reports are compiled for donor report submission.
  • Liaise with colleagues across other CAMFED offices globally to share best practice and learning for enterprise development at CAMFED.
  • Any other duty as assigned.

Qualifications

A minimum of a degree in Development Studies, Business Management  or Enterprise Development  with at least three years’ experience.
