Lusaka Provincial Health Office (LPHO) with Support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the under listed position:
Job Title: Assistant Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (X5)
District: Lusaka
Job Purpose: To collect, validate and enter patient data into Electronic Health Record Systems in order to ensure generation of accurate and timely reports to improve quality of care in health facilities.
Reports to: Facility In-Charge
Main Responsibilities:
- Conducts data entry & prepares data quality monitoring & improvement reports in health facilities;
- Provides technical data processing & reporting guidance to other non
Monitoring & Evaluation staff in health facilities: - Ensures that Data Quality Monitoring & Improvement Systems (DQMIS) tools are in place and that periodic reliable measures and indicators of key impact are established; and collects and monitors program performance data on an ongoing basis;
- Maintains multiple datasets as required for the facility such as Covid-19 vaccination, cancer screening and HIV/TB prevention & treatment;
- Conducts Data Quality Assessments (DOA) and provides regular reports;
- Provides input for situation room (Dashboard) presentations;
- Prepares case data / summary statistics reports;
- Compile HIV/TB data from multiple data sources such as paper based registers and SmartCare on a weekly and monthly basis so as to show performance against targets;
- Update laboratory results into electronic health record systems as required and ensure no backlog accumulates
- Conduct in-house data reviews with relevant stakeholders so as to promote data driven decision making at facility level;
- Regularly triangulate data between IT Scripts, Smart Data Apps and generic reports produced in SmartCare; and
- Perform other duties as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) Credits or better including
Mathematics, Science and English. - Minimum Diploma in one of the following; Mathematics/Statistics, Computer
Science/IT, Public Health, Demography, Records Management or Library &
Information Science. - At least One (1) year data processing experience in health facilities.
Added Advantage
i. Knowledge and ability to manage data using Ms Excel and Ms Access
ii. Knowledge and work experience with CDC PEPFAR Supported HIV/TB Programs

- Must have high level of Confidentiality and Integrity . Must be a team player, and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
