Nurse Counsellor – REF NDL-MEDAPR22
CFHRZ is looking for a Nurse Counsellor to work at the Ndola office. The primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Enroll individuals or couples into research studies and obtain informed consent according to ICH-GCP guidelines
- Effectively treat common illnesses in both HIV infected and non-infected participants
- Perform physical exams on participants when indicated
- Effectively counsel participants in family planning and demonstrate competency in insertions & removals of LARC methods (particularly copper IUDs and Jadelles)
- Sympathetically counsel participants during times of stress
- Perform group, pre, and post-test HIV/AIDS counseling for both individuals and couples
- Respect confidentiality of participants and data at all times
- Demonstrated experience in working with key populations
The ideal qualifications for this role are listed below:
- Diploma in nursing and 3 or more years’ relevant work experience.
- Must have the ability to learn new procedures and follow standard operating procedures whilst adhering to Good Clinical Laboratory Practices.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, ability to manage time and ability to multi-task
- Must be registered with General Nursing Council or Zambia Counselling Council with valid practicing license.
- A background working in GCP compliant research clinics will be an added advantage. The successful applicant will still undergo GCP training at the site.
- Ability to communicate in English and Bemba
