Description
- Responsible for carrying out various mechanical repairs and associated fabrication works as assigned and / or as per the instructions from section Foreman and Engineer.
- Work as a member of a team in carrying out various mechanical maintenance activities such as installation, alignment, overhauling, repairing of machines, maintenance of de-dusting units and vulcanizing belt conveyors, etc.
- Work in the assigned area viz. Crushers, Raw mill, Kiln & Coal mill, Cement mill or Packing Plant and to do equipment related inspection & maintenance jobs.
- Ensure quality of jobs done (adherence to timelines & work on the principle of “Do the right for the first time”)
- Modifies and tests machinery and equipment, according to the theories and principles of mechanical engineering.
- Adhere to policies, processes, systems relating to maintenance functions
- Inspect tools and equipment ‘especially lifting equipment’ before using and make sure they are of suitable loads, good and safe condition to use.
- Write a technical repot about the routine inspection, execution of preventive maintenance schedules and repair works of mechanical equipment/systems for the designated area in the MSD log book.
- Coordinate with the foreman on preparing spare parts, tools and material for each work assignment.
- Liaise with other group members / supervisors / foremen / operators / technicians to ensure smooth coordination of inter relation activities and handing over of equipment for maintenance and operation.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned to him by the superiors from time to time.
- Arrange and ensure the fitness and availability of the tools and the equipment involved for the work of his area.
- Safety and Cleanliness
- Ensure good housekeeping and cleanness of the work sites and the workshop and make sure that all left over material / scrap are removed and properly disposed.
- Ensures the compliance with safety rules, work permit system, good working practice, proper implementation of procedures, quality and environmental requirements and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to equipment or machine handing over procedure, before handing over equipment or machine for operation, check and makes sure that all maintenance tools / material and personnel are cleared from the working site and the equipment is safe to resume operation.
- Assure environmental compliance and clean plant operations
- Implement quality environment protection and safety policies of the company & MSD.
- Shall participate in maintenance activities in any of the maintenance jobs in the Plant as may be decided by the DCZL management.
Requirements
- 10 Plus 2 school and Fitter certificates
- 2 years of hands-on experience in vulcanizing textile & ST belting
