Overview

My client, a design-led hotel that has 249 stylish rooms, a spa, an International convention centre (hosting up to 2500 people) and a golf course all set in a tranquil 100 hectare estate, is looking for a dynamic Banqueting Manager to complement their busy Banqueting and Events department.

The ideal candidate needs to be mature, well presented, creative, able to plan effectively and have great initiative. You need to have played a key role in managing and co-ordinating big functions, conferences, weddings, back to back events and be able to multi task efficiently and effectively and need to be physically capable in accomplishing tasks. You must have solid experience in managing teams and dealing with VIP guests and a variety of diverse cultures.

Duties:

  • To oversee the management of the banqueting functions from beginning to end
  • Planning well so each event runs smoothly
  • Plan and forecast – Excel knowledge is a must
  • Managing the floor functions – food and beverage teams
  • Ensuring all banquet layouts, detail, decorations, cleanliness are properly set up and follow the standards and procedures of the hotel
  • Managing staff

Requirements:

  • Previous international exposure in a hotel environment is ideal
  • Leadership skills to motivate and manage the team
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organisations and administrative skills
  • 5-7 years valid experience
  • Able to work long hours when required – early starts and late finishes
  • A can-do attitude
  • Hospitality qualification
