URGENTLY NEEDED
Key Accountabilities
- Monitoring of processes in the production section (stunning, slaughter, defeathering, evisceration, spin chilling, giblet and petfood packing).
- Ensuring that birds are stunned at the correct voltage, cut properly, allowed to bleed as per documented procedures and scalded in correct water temperatures
- Ensure that equipment/machinery is properly set (and kept in good working condition) for efficient slaughtering, adjust accordingly where necessary.
- Ensure implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) in the Killing and Evisceration sections.
- Ensure team members understand food safety objectives and contribute to achieving the same.
- Ensure that start up procedure and the shutdown procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Ensuring cleaning and sanitation (equipment and infrastructure) is done as per procedure.
- Ensure that specification sheets for customers are adhered to
- Ensure that all products are properly labelled as per customer, statutory and regulatory requirements
- Understanding and training others (production department employees) in Food Safety Culture
- Compiling all daily Production reports (GRN, Processing Advice Notice, OGS) and circulating on time every day
Key Requirements
- At least a Diploma in Food Science / Manufacturing / Quality Research and Development or equivalent
- Grade 12 certificate
- At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Trouble shooting, problem Solving and analytical skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
