GHC leaders are concentrated in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and the U.S., but the network has a truly global reach across 40+ countries and 450+ health organizations.For more information, visit our website or find us on Facebook and Twitter.THE ROLEWe seek a highly detail-oriented, creative problem-solver who will work closely with members of the Central Programs Team to assist with a range of projects involved in supporting Global Health Corps’ fellowship program. The different areas that comprise GHC’s global programs include: fellowship admissions; curriculum design; fellow retreat/workshop planning; and partner organization selection. Primarily focusing on the Fellowship Admissions process, the intern will learn how to apply their skills in an entrepreneurial, non-profit setting. The intern will gain a better understanding of non-profit management and be better prepared to work in project and systems management, both in the non-profit sector and beyond. In addition to working across our central programs team, the intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with staff on other teams and participate in regular team and staff meetings.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Monitor customer service email account and communicate directly with fellowship applicants throughout the application process
  • Assist with the management of the online application system and work within our application database
  • Create and maintain tracking documents to monitor the progress of the fellow admissions process
  • Support the Admissions team in managing 150+ community volunteers and 25 partner organizations during their application review and interview processes
  • Participate in the application review process
  • Analyze applicant recruitment data and reviewer survey data (both quantitative and qualitative data from application reviewers)
  • Research and test new technologies and systems to incorporate into the existing Admission process structure
  • Prepare and track onboarding materials for admitted fellows
  • Support flight booking process for fellows to attend annual retreats
  • Assist with other aspects of the Central Program team, such as preparing for fellow programming, communication, and general administrative support
  • Note: This role is 70% Fellowship Admissions, 30% Global Programs)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • In pursuit of or recently completed an undergraduate degree
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills with a knack for sustaining and/or improving systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • A track record of taking initiative
  • An innovative mindset—able to design systems and think outside the box
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for taking on a variety of projects as they arise
  • A demonstrated strong work ethic with respect for coworkers
  • Interest in non-profit management, social justice, and global health
