The Centre for Environment Justice (CEJ) is a registered youth led non-governmental organization.
The mandate: CEJ believes that a safe environment is a basic fundamental human right and that
individual children, youths, women, men and the general population have the right to access
quality and accurate information on Extractive Industries, Environmental Conservation, Energy,
Climate Change and Agriculture. This will enable them adapt and mitigate; and respond to
disasters effectively in affected areas at community, districts, national level and International.
CEJ KEY AREAS OF WORK
CEJ`s program and activities revolves around information dissemination, campaigns,
research, advocating for policy development and implementation, research, capacity
building, lobby and advocacy, community engagement and participation; and community
mobilization and awareness.
Responsibilities
– Ensure that project activity funds are withdrawn within the budget line and that Accounts procedures
are followed Ensure project retirements are made within timeline by program/project/research officers.
– Prepare monthly financial statement (report) for further analysis by finance and Administration
manager.
– Review project activity requisitions and raise payment vouchers for approval
– Prepare quarterly operating financial statements, prepare and maintain data for statutory auditing
– Sound internal control system for effective implementation and monitoring.
– Assist the Finance and Administration Manager in ensuring that the financial departments operate
according to financial standards and regulations.
Qualifications
– Holder of Diploma in Financial Accounting or equivalent, ACCA or ZICA Standard accounting.
Contract Duration
– 1year renewable based on performance.
Shall report to the Finance and Administration manager. In the His/hers absence, you shall, report to
the Executive Director.
