Program Manager – Tree of Life Family Legacy

Who We’re Looking For: Family Legacy Missions International is seeking a compassionate Program Manager for Tree of Life, our residential children’s home located in Lusaka, Zambia. Salary $70,000 to $80,000 USD. We are looking for a servant leader with prior experience managing a Christian residential children’s home. Tree of Life currently houses nearly 500 children in over 50 houses on a 130-acre property that also includes an onsite best-in-class medical center. This position has 8-10 direct reports and over 100 indirect reports. The Program Manager will have a heart for child and youth ministry and prior experience overseeing and building teams dedicated to delivering high-level, individualized care for those we serve. Must be eligible for employment in the United States and willing to relocate to Lusaka, Zambia. This is a support-raised position and requires some work in the US to meet with donors.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Under the leadership of the Integrated Programs Director, the Program Manager-Tree of Life will coach 8-10 direct reports by leading with humility, inspiration, and devotion to the children entrusted to our care. This role is fast-paced and round-the-clock. The goal is to lead the Tree of Life team to provide holistic and individualized support in a safe, uplifting community to high-risk children as they heal from multiple traumas and begin reintegration.

  • Oversee, manage, and coach Tree of Life Deputy Program Managers and other team leads as indicated
  • Listen to staff concerns and needs and provide appropriate timely feedback to HR, direct supervisors, and peer managers
  • Mediate conflict resolution among direct reports as needed
  • Delegate and assign all administrative, logistical, and program assignments to TOL team
  • Advocate and ensure the safety and protection of children at TOL when reporting sensitive issues
  • Execute the Family Legacy approved strategic plan for residential services
  • Communicate and facilitate strategic vision with direct reports
  • Supervise day-to-day program operations for Tree of Life
  • Ensure governmental compliance for residential services
  • Track and evaluate short and long term goals, KPIs, and make continuous iterative adjustments as needed
  • Ensure adherence to policies and ministry goals including Child Protection Policy and Strat Ops plan
  • Ensure the principles of “Nurturing the Hearts of Children” are evident in all aspects of the village
  • Prepare Tree of Life annual budget for executive and board approval
  • Collaborate with Dallas staff and Zambia staff to maintain accurate data, records, and reports of student information

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ministry degree a plus
  • Two (2) years of management of Christian child residential facility or behavioral health facility
  • Clear Gospel presentations tailored for child and adult staff
  • Demonstrated servant-leadership to shepherd Tree of Life staff and residents
  • Ministry experience in a developing country or prior mission trip experience
  • Always operates with a high level of confidentiality, trust, and candor
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and human relation skills
  • Ability to interact with diplomacy and tact amid influential constituents and diverse groups
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to various situations
  • Adept time management and project management skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Pro-active and solutions-oriented
  • Exude high energy and enthusiasm
