ZAMBIA RED CROSS SOCIETY
The Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) is a Humanitarian Organization established in 1966 by an Act of Parliament CAP 307 of the laws of Zambia as an auxiliary institution that augments government efforts in humanitarian assistance. ZRCS is part of the International Red Cross movement known as International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). In line with its mandate, ZRCS works with various actors in collaboration with Government of Zambia in responding to both man-made and natural disasters. Zambia Red Cross Society is implementing an ECHO project which is a new model for humanitarian action tarred towards supporting local communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters subsequently protecting communities and helping them withstand future shocks, in order to effectively implement this project ZRCS hereby invites applications from suitable, qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Field Officer(s) to be based in our project district Offices in Mazabuka, Monze, Choma and Namwala.

REPORTING TO: FIELD OFFICERS
WORKPLACE: – MAZABUAK, MONZE, CHOMA NAMWALA
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
1-year fixed term Contract
EXPECTED DATE OF DEPLOYMENT: July 2023
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 certificate plus three (3) years of Field experience,
- Diploma from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
- The applicant should be Fluent in English and Tonga.
- Field Officer should originate from the District,
- Should possess a valid motor bike license,
- Must be familiar with the Red Cross,
- Be familiar with Disaster Management or Community Health concepts
- and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the coordination with Satellite Disaster Management Committees
- Compile and submit reports on Project activities, monthly and quarterly reports in line with Project Officer guidance at District level
- Ensure that there is accountability and transparency in the execution of the project activities
- Mobilize villages and communities and facilitate formation of SDMCs in the station district
- To assist the project officer in the supervision, monitoring, and implementation of project activities in the district
- Keep volunteers active and well informed of all activities in the branches
- Identify problems and possible interventions through development of community action plans and facilitate their participation towards project ownership
- Facilitate training and coordinate trainings for Community members in Disaster Risk Management
- Support the Branch administratively when requested by the project officer for example in supporting Volunteer record keeping and taking minutes.
- Any other duty as required and assigned by Project Officer.
