REVENUE ACCOUNTANT

Purpose    

Keeping track of an organization’s income and any debts owed to the business.

Key tasks will include tracking and reporting incoming revenue, creating invoices, and keeping accurate transaction records in Pastel.

This will also involve preparing all revenue related journal entries, developing new reporting and modifying existing reporting, and strengthen internal controls related to revenue by developing and proposing procedures that will enhance revenue recognition, recording and reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Raise billings on a daily basis on income/cash received from various sources.
  • Record and post income from SMRS into Pastel on a daily basis.
  • Determine monthly revenue forecast and perform monthly revenue reconciliation against student accounts receivables.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly revenue report to management detailing various sources of income.
  • Ensure that student accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and invoices are processed promptly
  • Perform reconciliation of all accounts receivables on a monthly basis i.e.  Staff debtors, prepayments, outstanding imprest and office cash.
  • Identify and resolve receivable accounts that have outstanding balances on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of the SMRS to ensure proper billing and assist in managing ALL aspects of the revenue process.
  • Assist in financial audits and implement audit recommendation
  • Work in compliance with organization accounting standard and guidelines
  • Use software application (Pastel) for company accounting operation.
  • Attend to any other duties that maybe assigned by your supervisor

Revenue Accountant Skills and Qualification:

  • Full ACCA or CIMA.
  • Experience with Pastel a MUST.
  • Reliable and must have strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, prioritization skill and time management
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude
  • Must be highly organized and able to deal with a high volume of data
  • Able to work proactively and independently with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Attend to any other duties that maybe assigned by your supervisor
