About Us

Koloso Application Technology Zambia  Limited is an innovative for-profit edtech start-up. Work on project Koloso started in October 2022, and we loaded our first test version of the Koloso mobile app to the Android Play Store and the iOS App Store in March 2023.

Since then, we have undertaken testing with users and schools in Zambia and with users in the UK, and we have been making continuous improvements based on the feedback received. With a new version of Koloso due out in July, and with content that is growing every day, we are now preparing to go to market with the objective of issuing our first invoice and receiving our first subscription payment in September 2023.
Koloso is a platform designed and built around the concept of “social gaming for learning” for child and adult learning. Designed to become a multi-subject platform, Koloso is initially focused on mathematics and mental arithmetic.
We are committed to changing the way students learn and teachers teach by providing cutting-edge digital solutions. As a rapidly growing start-up, we are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Sales and Marketing Lead to join our team and drive the sales and marketing efforts of our revolutionary EdTech product.

Role Overview

As the Sales and Marketing Lead, you will play a vital role in promoting and expanding the reach of our product. This is one of the most important hires we will ever make – if it works, Koloso is on an amazing growth trajectory and you will take a fair share of the credit and share in the rewards.

We are a small team, and you will be responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing.  We all help each other, but right now there is nobody else in sales and marketing so you have to be ready to do everything until we build the business to the point that we can afford for you to start building your team!

Your primary focus will be on engaging with school heads, government officials, and other key stakeholders in the education sector. You will have the opportunity to work independently, think strategically, and shape the future of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to drive product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Identify and engage with potential customers, including school heads, government officials, and other decision-makers in the education sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, establishing Koloso Application Tech Limited as a trusted and preferred EdTech provider.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the benefits and features of our EdTech product.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to gather user and customer feedback and contribute to product enhancements, make sure that the user/customer voice is heard in all product development discussions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and reports to track and evaluate sales and marketing performance.
  • Represent Koloso Application Tech Limited at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to expand our network and brand visibility.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing roles, preferably within the EdTech or related industry.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding marketing and sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with school heads, government officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently but collaboratively, take ownership of tasks, and think strategically.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a start-up environment.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative sales and marketing approaches.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to overcome challenges.
  • Proficiency in all MS office software and other sales and marketing tools.
  • A passion for education and a strong belief in the power of technology to transform learning.
