Job Purpose
Facilities & Site Operations Manager will oversee all building-related activities. The manager will also be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning. He/she will ensure that the site is performing according to company standards and are achieving set goals on time. The Facility & Site Operations Manager will spend most of their time overseeing operations, conducting routine inspections, implementing company policies, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities
- To ensure that the site is performing according to company standards and are achieving set goals on time.
- optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs.
- Plan and coordinate all installations (borehole pumps, aircons, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
- Ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.
- Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
- Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
- Supervise all facilities staff (cleaners, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors.
- Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
- Allocate office space according to needs.
- Handle insurance plans and service contracts
- Keep financial and non-financial records related to facilities.
- Perform analysis and forecasting.
- Ensuring that the Centre is clean and facility are safe for use.
- Any other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Accountability
- Takes ownership of all responsibilities and honors commitments
- Supports team members, provide oversight and takes responsibility for delegated assignments.
- To deliver outputs for which one has responsibility within prescribed time, cost and quality standard.
- Operates in compliance with OYDC rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering, business, or related field.
- Must have at least 4 – 5 years in a similar management role.
- Must have a valid Engineering Institute of Zambia membership Certificate or valid practicing license.
- Proven work experience in a similar role.
- High-level communication and networking skills.
- Understanding of commercial trends and marketing strategies.
- Good project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
