Chief of Party Catholic Medical Mission Board Zambia

Access to Health Zambia (formerly CMMB Zambia), is a faith-based local organisation whose mission is to provide long-term, co-operative medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and healthcare issues. Access to Health Zambia is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals with relevant experience for the following key positions aimed at contributing to the strategic vision of an anticipated USAID Project, Stop GBV Now.

1.     Chief of Party

The Chief of Party will have overall responsibility for the project. S/he will provide strategic leadership and oversee the team managing all project activities and supporting operations.S/he has final responsibility for project delivery, including planning, budgeting, and implementation of the technical vision and approach, as well as reporting and ensuring all levels of the project and sites are working in alignment with donor policies and protocols. S/he will ensure the project complies with award terms and conditions, donors policies and regulations, and organisational systems to mitigate risk of fraud, waste, and abuse. S/he will provide technical support and have overall responsibility in the areas of operations, administration, logistics, procurement, budgeting, and financial accounting. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the official contact point providing overall project management and strategic direction.
  • Oversees technical and operational functions for achieving project goals.
  • Supervises project personnel, consultants, and other staff as assigned.
  • Monitors project activities for results or potential problems.
  • Oversees preparation of monthly activity schedules and project reports and submits them to the donor on time.
  • Oversees development of the annual implementation plan, budgets, and other deliverables per donor requests.
  • Provides progress reports and situational analyses and attends meetings and events as requested.
  • Ensures that managerial, administrative, and financial procedures comply with donor policies and procedures and Access to Health Zambia business principles, policies, and procedures.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree or its equivalent in gender studies, development studies, Law, public  health, project management or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing donor-funded and/or other development programs related to GBV, health, with demonstrated experience leading a team to achieve development results.
  • At least 10 years of senior-level experience in civil society, governance, organisational capacity building, advocacy, or other related sectors.
