Treasury Associate JTI (Japan Tobacco International)

What this position is about:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role exists to support the organisation in the implementation of its Finance strategic goals through:

  • Accounts Payable/Treasury management.
  • Effective cashflow and working capital management.
  • Timely and accurate statutory financial reporting and Audit.
  • Adherence to all financial related JSOX controls, as required by Group guidelines.
  • Ensuring full compliance to ALL applicable taxes in business operations.

What you will be doing:

Efficient Management of Accounts Payable

  • Ensures timely processing of vendor invoices and adherence to supplier payment terms. Reconciles vendor accounts and resolving outstanding issues.
  • Ensuring invoices and credit notes comply with statutory requirements.
  • Monthly review of aged advance payment balances in SAP and ensures timely follow up. Monthly review of GR/IR account and timely follows up mismatches with PR/PO Creators
  • Work with Global Business Services to support the company treasury needs.

Cash and Treasury Management

  • Prepares weekly and monthly cash requirements forecast.
  • Reports daily bank balances to ensure adequately funded for payments (no cash outs).
  • Monthly reports for bank and finance charges.
  • Maintains Petty cash, cheque Books and manage in line with petty cash policy.
  • Performs monthly bank reconciliations for all responsible bank accounts and clear old items.

Contribute to Tax, Audit and Compliance

  • Participates in the preparation of monthly tax returns.
  • Ensures payment of taxes and monitors import customs duties.
  • Ensures all treasury and accounts payables postings have correct tax treatments.
  • Participates in preparation of monthly tax returns.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
  • Must be a registered member of ZICA.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Treasury/Accounts Payable.
  • Must have general knowledge of taxation laws and regulations pertaining to the tobacco industry.
  • Fluent in English with excellent skills in MS Office tools and SAP.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
