About Community Climate Solutions:

We make every farmer an eCO2preneur: In our partner communities across rural Zambia, we incentivise individuals and households to take climate action, thereby protecting, restoring, and making their natural environment more productive. By helping our communities to manage fires and conduct agroforestry and climate-smart agriculture, we develop sustainable carbon-based revenue streams for the benefit of local communities. Incorporated in Zambia, Community Climate Solutions is committed to improving rural livelihoods, creating employment and fostering long-term investment.

As we are scaling our concept across Zambia, we are looking for an entrepreneurial Chief Financial-Officer:

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the CCS CEO in planning all aspects relating to our ambitious expansion in Zambia
  • Plan and set up CCS’s back-office, incl. people, processes and systems for HR, finance and IT
  • Manage day-to-day back-office operations incl. accts receivables, payroll/NAPSA/PAYE), tax, insurance
  • Build up a strong budgeting, accounting and controlling function covering all our Zambia projects
  • Assume responsibility for full quarterly and year-end finance processes and filings, external audit, etc.
  • Ensure strong financial control of operations, incl. procurement, through smart processes and KPIs
  • Provide local input to Community Climate Solutions Switzerland to shape the company’s marketing strategy and implementation

Your profile:

  • Graduate-level educated professional with a degree from a reputed university
  • Solid bookkeeping and administrative experience, accounting background/credentials required (ZIKA)
  • Very good IT- and respective software knowledge (MS Office, especially xls, databases, sharepoint, etc)
  • Entrepreneurial drive to build up greenfield operations while enjoying the challenges of the unexpected
  • Experience or strong interest in conservation / community developments and/or nature-based solutions
  • Native-level proficiency in spoken and written English and Nyanja
  • Highly reliable, trustworthy, and diligent in all business matters.
  • Creative, resourceful, and proactive relationship builder with a positive can-do attitude

Contractual aspects:

  • Contract: Full-time, start date early 2024/ by arrangement
  • Salary: competitive and commensurate with experience, incentive structure
  • Location: Lusaka, with extensive travel across Zambia
