ABOUT US
Common Wellbeing is a local Zambian NGO dedicated to improving the health and
wellbeing of rural communities through community health, sustainable livelihoods, and education initiatives. We focus on sustainable, cost-effective, community-driven interventions based in empowerment and equity, primarily through training and education. Within the communities we work, we also support the local health system with medical equipment and supplies. We implement projects and share our learnings and insights to benefit others. We emphasize partnership, working closely with government, communities, and fellow NGOs to realize our mission of empowering communities to rise from poverty to wellbeing seeking an eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Program Coordinator.

The purpose of the Program Coordinator role is to identify rural community needs
supporting women and children in the areas of Health, Empowerment, Income. Develop interventions, mobilization of resources, planning, and execution of programs to change the common wellbeing of the targeted populations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
Program Planning and Design:

Drive strategic program planning in collaboration with the Programs Director and stakeholders.
Identifying community needs and designing evidence-based interventions.
Conduct research and analysis to inform program design, incorporating best practices and considering the unique context of vulnerable rural communities.
Program Management and Implementation:

Support Programs Director in overseeing the effective planning, execution, and monitoring of programs (projects, grantmaking, learning)
Ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to the implementing partners and teams.
Ensuring smooth program implementation and delivery of high-quality services
Ensure efficient resource allocation, risk management, and problem solving to address challenges during program implementation.
Contribute to the development of work plans, budgets and progress reports as required by the organization, donors and other partners
Strategic Leadership:

Provide operational guidance and direction to the programs departments.
Ensuring the integration of best practices and innovative approaches. Support the Programs Director in identification of new program opportunities, partnerships, and funding sources to expand Common Wellbeing’s impact and reach.
Capacity Building:

Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the skills and expertise of the programs team.
Facilitate the development of trainers database for capacity building activities.
Facilitate training of trainer’s sessions for capacity building partners
Facilitate content development of easy-to-read training modules/ materials (Financial Education/Entrepreneurship/health awareness).
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, partner organizations, community leaders, and donors.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs, priorities, and opportunities for program collaboration and synergy.
Facilitate beneficiary mobilization in liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Support stakeholder identification and mapping to feed into a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy.
Provide on-going support to Plan field staff and partners on understanding donor financial compliance, identifying financial risks and other best practices related to grant management and organizational development relevant to Plan Zambia project implementation.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

Minimum of degree in social sciences, Agriculture, Public Health, or related field.
Program Management qualification is added advantage.
Experience working with NGOs focusing on either Health or sustainable livelihood especially women and children.
Experience: Substantial (+3 years) traceable experience in: (1) Program
Planning, Implementation, (2) Capacity building (3) Report writing and documentation (4) Grant writing (winning ones)
Knowledge about entrepreneurship, financial literacy and value addition will be an added advantage.
Required Skills:
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. Appreciation of basic
accounting and data management skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Package.
