About Us

Established in 1963 as the Staff Training College (STC), the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) is a management development institute (MDI) operating under Act No. 15 of 1998 in the Office of the President. NIPA is dedicated to enhancing the skills and competence of public service employees in Zambia.

Following the re-launch of the Mandatory Public Service Training and Certification on 21st February 2024 by Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, the President of the Republic of Zambia, and the Minister in charge of the Institute, we have resumed our mandate of fostering a competent and ethical public service.

The Institute currently has four (4) campuses, namely Main Campus along Dushanbe Road and Burma Road Campus along Burma Road in Lusaka, Ndola Campus located in Monkey Fountain in Ndola and Livingstone Campus along Airport Road in the Tourist City.

3.0 LECTURER, ICT/COMPUTER SCIENCE (1×5)

Job Overview:

To deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials, conduct research, and contribute to the academic growth and development of students in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)/Computer Science. This includes providing academic support to students, collaborating with industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and deliver engaging and effective lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Computer Science/ICT courses.
2. Design and update course materials, assessments, and learning resources to ensure alignment with industry standards and academic requirements.
3. Provide academic support and guidance to students, including mentoring and supervising student projects and research activities.
4. Conduct research and scholarly activities in Computer Science/ICT, leading to publications and contributions to the academic community.
5. Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance the curriculum, facilitate industry placements, and stay abreast of advancements in the field.

6. Participate in academic and administrative duties, including curriculum development, assessment design, student evaluations, and committee work.

7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in Computer Science/ICT and integrate relevant technologies and trends into teaching and research activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate, university entrant;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in ICT/Computer Science;
  • A Master’s degree in ICT/Computer Science;
  • Strong expertise and experience in teaching Computer Science/ICT courses at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated research and publication record in reputable journals and conferences related to Computer Science/ICT.
  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and academic administration is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and contribute to the academic community.
