Right to Care Zambia has been awarded a five (5) year project funded by the USAID through the PEPFAR mechanism. The USAID Action HIV project aims to reduce HIV mortality, morbidity and transmission by achieving the UNAIDS and PEPFAR goal of 95/95/95 HIV treatment coverage by providing comprehensive HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment maintenance services in Luapula, Northern and Muchinga provinces of Zambia. The USAID Action HIV project will work closely with and in support of the Ministry of Health.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Diploma in Pharmacy with 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of supply chain practices
  • Member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)

TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Computer Literate
  • Good Communication skills
  • Planning and Organization skills
  • Professional Ethics

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Implement strategies to effectively manage stock and ensure quality and safety of pharmaceutical products in the clinics
  • Ensure compliance with good pharmacy practices and good dispensing practices
  • Ensure continuous supply of medication for patients accessing care from pharmacy and areas that we support
  • Issue medicines to patients, furnishing information and advice to patients about the use of medicines
  • Determine patient compliance with the therapy and follow up to ensure that patient’s medicine related needs are being met
  • Ensure that all supported clinics have stock cards and files for managing stock
  • Ensure that stock cards are kept up to date and maintained
  • Support implementation and functionality of electronic stock management systems (eLMIS) used in the district
  • Ensure that facilities are reporting medicine availability as required on Stock Visibility System (e.g. SMS 4 Life)
  • Compile monthly statistics and reports and forward to relevant persons
  • Coordinate the implementation of DMAD projects (e.g. MMSD and CCMDD)
  • Compile weekly /monthly stock status reports
  • Report and submit pharmacovigilance information and data
