Head of Supply Chain Kemcore

Level : Senior (Member of Country Management Team)

Reports to : Group General Manager – Manufacturing & Logistics

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our team. As the Head of Supply Chain for Kemcore regional operations, and your home office being Kemcore Zambia Ltd, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and productivity. You will coach, lead, evaluate and upskill a logistics team in charge of international bulk product movements while building a sourcing & procurement team to support our manufacturing plants, starting with our first at Ndola.

Success on these two fronts will be measured primarily by profitability and agility in customer service. You must be technically comfortable and emotionally content enough to lead by empowering your associates to quickly develop into the best possible versions of themselves.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy which includes but is not limited to: Purchasing (Sourcing and Procurement) and Supply (Logistics and Transport)
Directly supervise and manage the team of Logistics and Transport controllers and their associates
Collaborate with Sales, Plant Operations, Customer Service, Finance and Logistics teams to resolve daily matters arising in a timely manner
Determine and continually update SMART supply chain KPIs in keeping with market dynamics
Suggest solutions for business process improvement especially related to the Supply Chain function
Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner
Train and evaluate associates
Build and maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers
Other duties and tasks as may be delegated by direct supervisor on an ad-hoc basis
Requirements and Qualifications

Previous working experience in closely related roles for at least 7 years
Previous experience of managing a logistics team, appraising staff, resolving HR matters for subordinates and/or growing a commercial department would be a strong advantage.
Hands on experience with supply chain management software (such as SAP MM, AP Modules, SAP Plant Maintenance, etc.)
Ownership of own performance and its impact on the company’s success
Critical thinker but comfortable collaborating to problem-solve on the fly
Team player who actively seeks the input of team members into own ideas
Professionally mature to separate between ideas and people, and to transform criticism – whether negative or positive – into fuel for rapid growth
Develops self by developing subordinates, and so has a ready track record of people development
BA in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or similar relevant field
Member of a professional supply chain body
