Duties

Incumbent performs manual work in the warehouse and Embassy offices, helping to load and unload USG property and helps to maintain a clean warehouse. The incumbent will also be required to drive a Box Truck to deliver requested supplies and furniture to both offices and residences. Safely unloads incoming supplies, breaking down pallet loads opening packing boxes in the warehouse, residences and offices using the Forklift and other existing handling equipment. This position is supervised by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One year of warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of warehouse and laborer experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to learn locations of various types of supply items, and learn to recognize items by sight and from oral descriptions. Basic knowledge of safety practices in a Warehouse setting is required. Must be able to read and comprehend drafted daily work schedule, basic comprehension of some 14FAM regulations on asset management and also management policies and notice.

Education Requirements:
Completion of Senior Secondary school is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Good Working Knowledge (speaking/reading/writing) of English is required. English Language proficiency may be tested.
Limited Knowledge (speaking) of either Bemba or Nyanja is required.SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be capable of performing arduous physical work. A valid Class C driving license is required. The incumbent must be able to lift or move loads of up to 40KGs in weight. Good communication, organizational and time management skills are required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Lusaka, Zambia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
