Silondwa Engineering Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced members of the public for the following vacant positions:

1.0 FINANCE RECORDS CLERK (X1)

Job Purpose

To be responsible for all aspects of record management in the finance department, managing of archives, filling and any other duties assigned.

Main Duties

a) Updates and maintains the database, financial records, and filing systems.

b) Maintains an accurate and up-to-date record of all sales orders issued to customers

c) Tracks and monitors financial transactions.

d) Ensures all documents are properly signed and distributed

e) Verifies financial and other data (e.g. tax identification numbers)

f) Assists with account reconciliations

g) Reports the status of accounts and discrepancies

Education and Work Experience

  • ZICA Technician or Diploma level 1. or its equivalent in Accounting or other related discipline
  • 2 years of relevant work experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Basic  of accounting packages and systems, including SAP
  • Good data gathering, analysis and problem solving skills
  • High ethical standards and integrity
  • Basic proficiency in the use of MS Office tool

2.0 TAX OFFICER (X1)

Purpose

To review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections as well as ensure the corporate tax liability is minimized within the ambit of the tax regulations and procedures.

Main Duties

a) Submits monthly Tax returns

b) Provides information/documents to ZRA and/or Tax advisors as and when required

c) Works closely with AP and AR to ensure correct documentation for tax purposes

d) Ensures proper filling of all invoices/documents for each return submitted

e) Prepares monthly Tax reports

f) Works closely with logistics team and Tax agents to ensure proper reconciliation of import Taxes

Education and work experience required

a) Degree in Accounting or related field

b) 2+ years relevant work experience

c) Tax experience will be an added advantage

Skills and Competencies

  • Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry
  • Good knowledge of accounting of finance best practices, IFRS and other applicable accounting standards
  • Basic  of accounting packages and systems, including SAP
  • Good data gathering, analysis and problem solving skills
  • High ethical standards and integrity
  • Basic proficiency in the use of MS Office tool
