SOFTWARE ENGINEER (X1), N4 GRADE
Job Purpose
Responsible for Software development, modeling, simulation, testing, and quality assurance and must be able to build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.
Job Accountabilities
1. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
2. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
3. Ensures availability of all core business systems and monitor the disaster recovery site.
4. Analyses user requirements, software, and coding.
5. Conducts systems risk assessment and reliability analysis.
6. Conversant with object-oriented analysis and design (OOA and OOD) technique.
7. Monitors systems performance.
8. Performs maintenance and software integrations for existing systems.
9. Maintains or exceeds compliance with industry standards.
10. Applications development for the full software lifecycle.
11. Identifies and assesses new technologies prior to implementation.
12. Develops and executes project plans.
13. Produces technical specifications and determines operational feasibility.
14. Designs friendly Front end graphical user interfaces.
15. Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.
16. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
Qualifications
1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five (05) credits including Mathematics and English
2. University degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
3. Microsoft Certified Professional will be added advantage
4. Proven experience of not less than five (5) years in managing servers and Virtue Machines.
Additional Attributes Required for the Job
1. Experience in website development and design.
2. Expertise in programming languages such as HTML, C++ and Java script.
3. Experience in the development of mobile Apps, APIs and in-house application development.
4. Database administration with professional work experience in SQL.
5. Hands on experience in MS Exchange 2016 or better with cloud computing working knowledge.
6. Abreast with latest system security management trends, policies, procedures, methods, ethics, Disaster Recovery, and business continuity plans.
7. Experience in project management and system implementation.
