Research Assistant – Ipsos in Zambia

JOB PURPOSE

The Research Assistant’s job is to execute qualitative or quantitative projects as part of a project team that will be headed by a Senior Research Executive/Research Manager. This includes draft questionnaire design and testing, field materials preparation, draft report writing and draft presentation preparation. These tasks are done under the supervision of a Research Executive/Senior Research Executive / Research Manager. Research Assistants form part of Generation Ipsos.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

1. PROJECT EXECUTION WHICH WILL INVOLVE

  • Executing a field brief and supervising the process until the deliverables like a draft report or transcripts.
  • Quality control: review and ensure that high quality standards of work are maintained by field team.
  • Timeliness: Ensure that project deadlines and deliverables are all met to the client’s satisfaction. This includes Keeping track of all aspects of a project and departmental activities.
  • Teamwork: work with a positive attitude that enhances team dynamics and department activities
  • Carry out desk research

2. Understand the business operations and subsequently draw out ideas and take an active role in creating and implementing systems that can improve the running of the projects

3. Update the Research Executive/Senior Research Executive/Research Manager on project’s progress.

4. DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

  • Validation of data to ensure accuracy of information received from Data processing department
  • Generation of accurate analytical draft reports

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

To be successful in this role the candidate should have:

  • A relevant University degree from reputable University
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Technology savvy
  • Excellent verbal, written and spoken English and strong communication and influencing skills with proven ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to prioritize, organize tasks, work and deliver under pressure and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and SPSS and other survey analysis systems
  • Sound knowledge of interpreting and analyzing information
  • Able to work within a multi-cultural environment
  • Interpersonal skills, good people skills, good organizational skills, keen to detail, time management and strong presentation skills
  • Self-driven, results orientated, shows exceptional initiative and is focused on quality.
