VACANCY : Lead – Mass Market Merchant Ecosystem

LEVEL : Assistant Manager

LOCATION : Lusaka, HQ

JOB PURPOSE

To build and manage the Mass Market Merchant ecosystem. To analyze consumer and market trends, provide recommendations on how to drive merchant and consumer acquisition. To manage merchandising, branding and marketing activities to achieve business and financial goals. In addition, to recruit and train assistant merchandisers (Direct Sales Representatives) in their assigned job duties as well as address customer queries promptly and build strong customer relationships.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Eco system build & Revenue

  • Drive revenue growth through new marketing initiatives.
  • Drive Airtel Money digital transformation – Digitalize payment flow.

Face–to-Face Retail Merchants (Semi-formal & Formal)

  • Recruitment of merchants e.g. restaurants, bars, hotels, saloons, supermarkets, auto- shops etc.
  • Resolve merchants’ complaints and queries.

Master-pass implementation and cross functional interaction

  • Drive the use of cashless payment methods for various goods and services.
  • DSR recruitment, route planning & monitoring.
  • Disseminate product knowledge to MSMEs & subscribers
  • Design & implement new initiatives to drive transaction
  • Disseminate product knowledge to MSMEs & subscribers
  • Provide support in the event of challenges with the Till. That is, escalation to AM-Ops for support.
  • Check, validate & update subscriber/MSME’s KYC details Airtel Money branding of MSME’s business.

Merchant Revenues

  • Effective merchant dormancy management.
  • Drive growth of Average Revenue Per Unit (ARPU) per subscriber.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business related field and/or other related job experience.
  • Minimum five (05) years’ experience in sales, distribution, Trade marketing or equivalent experience.

Relevant Experience

  • IT literacy i.e. billing integration understanding
  • Understanding of technical requirements of partners or billers
  • Excellent with MS Office products.

Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)

  • Business awareness, strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, excellent negotiating skills, high personal standards and goal oriented, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge on Airtel products and services
  • Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and in writing
  • Excellent, high level knowledge; complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of expertise and general knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Ability to handle, prioritize, multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to operate in a performance driven organisation.
