About the Role.

Restless Development therefore seeks to recruit for the project a dynamic, inspired and innovative Zambian to fill the roles of Assistant Programme Coordinator – Youth Engagement. The Assistant Programme Coordinator – Youth Engagement will be based in Kabwe. The Assistant Programme Coordinator – Youth Engagement will work directly with the Meaningful Youth Engagement Manager and the programmes team to coordinate the programme and lead the engagement of Restless Development Zambia alumni to deliver strong structured support for Young Leaders under Youth Take the Lead and to ensure former volunteers are adequately supported.

She / He will take full responsibility of the alumni programme activities, including having oversight of the delivery of Alumni training and networking events. He/she will lead the design, delivery and reviewing of the Alumni Engagement Strategy and lead on engaging structured communications to Restless Development volunteer alumni across the country

About You
Essential and Desirable skills and experience

  • Graduate-level Social Science Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Good IT skills with competence in Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential
  • Belief in the values of Restless Development and ability to uphold them personally.
  • A strong personal commitment to the values, code of conduct and methods of Restless Development.
  • Proven facilitation and training skills.
  • A high level of motivation and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Leadership skills
  • Team builder
  • Relationship building
  • Voluntary work experience in youth development Restless Development Zambia
  • Experience in mobilising communities, community leaders and young people to participate in community development programmes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), fluency in written and spoken English essential and excellent IT skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with both online & offline data collection tools and techniques
  • A strong commitment to Restless Development vision, practices and values
  • Experience of budgeting and handling finances to deliver project activities
  • Experience working with young people from outside Zambia
  • Strong problem solving skills appropriate for young people
  • Computer literacy; (word, excel, power point, web and virtual meeting platforms)
  • An ability to plan/schedule work activities independently, with minimum supervision

Educational Background

  • Minimum:  Graduate-level Social Science Degree, or equivalent work experience
