Description

  • Should be very much disciplined, strictly adherent to safety norms, Follow LOTOTO isolation/ line clearance as per the requirement of electrical field. Should also follow all Company’s norms on PPE.
  • Regularly inspecting trailer bodies and systems
  • Troubleshooting and repairing trailer systems and components
  • Conducting preventive and maintenance checks on a regular basis
  • Cleaning and servicing fuel tanks
  • Assembling and dissembling engines and trailer systems
  • Checking and ordering replacement parts as and when needed
  • Testing the functionality of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ensuring that the trailers meet the road safety standards and guidelines
  • Maintaining a documentation of the day-to-day findings and operations
  • Preparing and presenting inspection reports
  • Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Reception Engineer/ Workshop Supervisor
  • Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred
  • Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including preventive maintenance, inspections, repair to air and hydraulic brakes, wheel hubs, trailer alignment, warranty procedures, driveline, steering and suspension, electrical, Air system, overhauls and engine rebuilds.
  • Sets safety as the top priority.
  • Identify, diagnosis, and resolve tractor and trailer related issues, i.e., power steering, power divider, U-joint, axle checks and installation, transmission repairs, A/C.
  • Diagnose and repair trailer components such as doors, floors and side panels.
  • Preventive maintenance (PMs) on tractor and trailer equipment including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders.
  • Technically proficient in all areas of the maintenance including tractor, trailer, tire, and basic parts administration.
  • Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members.
  • Utilize appropriate resources, such as the parts manual, service bulletins and other resources to research problems, determine most effective and efficient method for repair and locate parts.
  • Document works done in job card correctly
  • Abide by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take appropriate actions, recommend process changes, and initiate improvements.
  • Be a positive role model for all team members providing support and enthusiasm – creating a professional, positive work environment.

  • Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and written; ability to read and understand English.
  • Visually inspect small defects and/or small parts.
  • Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools; determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
  • Demonstrate the ability to hear and accurately interpret mechanical, technical and business information in an environment subject to noise, vibrations, etc.
  • Perform all work safely in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Interest in precision working to test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturers’ performance specifications
  • Interest in speaking with supervisors to discuss work and review work orders; and in repairing and replacing parts and components of automotive systems
  • Interest in analyzing information to perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication and tune-up

Requirements

  • Ordinary National Technician level Certificate / Diploma of its equivalent in Heavy Equipment/ Automotive Engineering or related discipline from government-recognized institute. Minimum of two (5) years relevant work experience.
