Convenience Retail Store Manager mPharma Retail Zambia Ltd

We are looking for a results driven retail store manager to be responsible for the overall store management. The store manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a store, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively. This includes training new staff, motivating staff to make sure they deliver exceptional customer service, monitoring inventory levels, driving sales, ensuring best practice and meeting quality standards to achieve key results and support company strategies.

Main job tasks, duties and responsibilities

  • Drive customer service excellence to every aspect of the store, including store appearance, display of merchandise, product placement, story layout, and selling procedures
  • Ensure strategic goals and sales targets of the store are met by maximizing sales and gross profit, reviewing sales performance, controlling expenses, and managing inventory
  • Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
  • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Ensure the store complies with outlined safety policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and arrange promotional material and in-store displays.
  • Undertake store administration duties such as managing store budgets, sales deposits and updating financial records.
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize shrinkage and make timely orders of new items.
  • Coordinate daily staffing and staffing schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Retail Cluster Head, Supply Chain, Finance and other key stakeholders

  • Background in a retail, preferably FMCG

Qualifications & Experience.

  • Diploma or equivalent in business or related field. University degree is an added advantage.
  • 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in FMCG.
  • Good oral and written communication skill
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • High level of energy with strong customer service skills.
  • Current and in-depth market and product knowledge
  • Advanced Microsoft Office user, particularly for Excel
