Records Management Officer Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia

Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) is a statutory body established in 1970 under the Nurses and Midwives Act No. 55 of 1970 with an express mandate to regulate nursing and midwifery training, education and practice. The Act was repealed and replaced by the Nurses & Midwives Act No. 31 of 1997 and Nurses & Midwives Act No. 10 of 2019, which redefined the functions of the Council and expanded the scope of practice for nurses and midwives.

The Council is therefore, inviting applications from highly motivated, result oriented, qualified and experienced persons to fill the positions of:

GRADE : NMCZ4
To supervise and undertake the provision and maintenance of records management services in order to facilitate accessibility, security and flow of information

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)
a) Supervises and undertakes effectively the indexing of files in order to facilitate efficient and effective storage and retrieval of information;
b) Supervises and undertakes effectively classification of correspondence in order to facilitate filing and organized access to information;
c) Supervises and undertakes effectively the provision of library information services in order to provide easy access to information;
d) Supervises timely receipt and distribution of correspondence in order to facilitate easy flow of information;
e) Supervises and undertakes timely the sorting and weeding of documents and records in order to identify those for disposal and archiving;
f) Undertakes effectively the securing of records in order to prevent unauthorized access and destruction;
g) Supervises effectively the utilization of human, financial and other resources in order to facilitate attainment of set objectives; and
h) Supervises and undertakes timely development of work plans and implementation of the Annual Performance Appraisal System (APAS) in order to enhance performance.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

a) Minimum Primary/Secondary Education:

Full Grade 12/Form V School Certificate

b) Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications:

Diploma in Records Management

c) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:

2 years

d) Communication Skills

Written Skills:

Able to write comprehensive reports

Oral Skills:

Able to communicate effectively in English

e) Other Skills/Attributes

Computer literate
Interpersonal Skill
Confidentiality

f) Membership to the Zambia Archives and Records Management Association
