Our Client in the Fisheries and Aquaculture sector is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual for the position of HDPE Geomembrane Technician. As a member of the installation team, you will be responsible for executing the installation of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane liners in various construction projects. Your expertise and commitment to quality will contribute to the successful completion of geomembrane installations while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform the installation of HDPE geomembrane liners based on project plans and specifications. This includes preparing the subgrade, laying out the liner, welding seams, and installing ancillary components with precision and accuracy.
Utilize hot wedge or extrusion welding techniques to join geomembrane panels together, ensuring secure and watertight seams. Conduct seam testing to verify the integrity and quality of the welded joints.
Safely operate and maintain installation equipment, including extrusion welders, testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools Following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols when using machinery and tools.
Conduct visual inspections and perform quality control tests to ensure the proper installation of geomembrane liners. Identify and address any defects or issues promptly, collaborating with senior installers or project managers as needed.
Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on installation sites. Participate in safety meetings, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and report any safety concerns or incidents to the project supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including daily progress reports, quality control documentation, and any incidents or safety concerns. Provide detailed reports to senior installers or project managers as required.
Assist with site preparation tasks, such as clearing vegetation, grading, and soil compaction, to create a suitable base for geomembrane installation. Collaborate with the installation team to ensure a smooth workflow and timely project completion.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Experience: 3 years plus
Education Level: Diploma Level
Qualifications: Certification in Geomembrane Installations or related fields is preferred
Software: MS Office
Equipment: Job related
Knowledge Of: Geomembrane installation methods, industry standards, quality control procedures, Familiarity with the safe operation of installation equipment, including extrusion welders and testing equipment
Skills To: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report any issues or concerns.
Ability To: Work independently and as part of a team, while maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines
