Head Chef Spruced Up Business Solutions

Our client is looking for a dynamic and vibrant Head Chef to manage their busy kitchen for a QSR/ Sit-down restaurant. If you are creative, service oriented, possess great people skills and are a good team leader, this could be for you.

Head Chef Responsibilties:

  1. Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes.
  2. Implementing hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness.
  3. Designing new recipes, planning menus, and selecting plate presentations.
  4. Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives.
  5. Hiring and training kitchen staff, such as cooks, food preparation workers, and dishwashers.
  6. Performing administrative tasks, taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and doing purchase orders.
  7. Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff.
  8. Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and handling customer problems and complaints

Requirements

  1. Grade 12 certificate with minimum credits in English and Math
  2. Advanced Diploma or higher in culinary arts
  3. 5+ years of experience in a similar position.
  4. Advanced knowledge of food professional principles and practices.
  5. Advanced knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
  6. Proficient knowledge of human resources management.
  7. Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering and inventory.
  8. Excellent communication skills.
  9. Ability to meet deadlines.
