Pre-school Teacher Hope Worldwide Zambia

Overview

The Preschool Teacher will assume the primary responsibility for delivering Early Childhood Development and Education (ECE) to our pre-schoolers. He/ she will play a pivotal role in overseeing and efficiently administering the preschool curriculum and programs, with the ultimate goal of delivering high-quality early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:
Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote holistic development (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical) of preschoolers.
Integrate play-based learning strategies to make education enjoyable and meaningful.

Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Foster a sense of community and cooperation among children.
Manages effectively the implementation of a performance management system in order to improve and sustain performance.

Individualized Learning:
Recognize and cater to the unique needs and learning styles of each child.
Provide additional support or challenges as required.

Parental Engagement:
Regularly communicate with parents regarding their child’s progress, activities, and upcoming events.

Health and Safety:
Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment.
Implement health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures.

Assessment and Documentation:
Conduct ongoing assessments to track developmental milestones.
Maintain accurate records of each child’s progress and share feedback with parents.

Professional Development:
Stay abreast of current early childhood education trends, methodologies, and best practices.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.

Reporting Relationships

The preschool teacher will report to the Senior Community Development Officer

Qualifications:

– Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field. A degree is an added advantage.
– 3 to 4 years experience in solo pre-school teaching
– Teaching certification/license.
– CPR and First Aid certification.
– Police clearance

– Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Creativity in lesson planning and implementation.
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position with regular school hours.
