Sales Trainee Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia

Purpose of the role:
The Sales Trainee will be put through the Hitachi Graduate Programme and will rotate through various Departments in order to gain an understanding of the challenges and processes within the business. The Trainee will be a support role to the sales team whilst learning the machines, the systems and the processes.

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Branch: Lusaka
Program Duration: 2 Years

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sales Trainee will be required to perform the following tasks:
➢ Cycle through various departments to learn Hitachi systems and processes;
➢ Learn the Hitachi product line up;
➢ Learn how to sell Mining and Construction Machines to various types of customers;
➢ Learn sales administration by observing the sales processes and assisting Sales
Consultants in acquiring new business;
➢ Actively participate in the planning and execution of the sales strategy, marketing plans
and sales effort.
➢ Participate in developing relationships, quoting and negotiating with specific customer
accounts.
➢ Provide support to the current sales team as required and deal with internet inquiries.
➢ Provide cover for sales team members who are on leave or on sick off;
➢ Assist customers in providing them with information like product or service quotes.
➢ Assist with Marketing and the production of Marketing Materials;
➢ Must have the flexibility and willingness to perform tasks that may fall outside of prescribed
duties.

Qualifications & Experience
➢ Grade 12 Certificate.
➢ Degree in Sales and Marketing/Business Administration or a related field.
➢ Must have graduated in the Year 2020 or later.
➢ Some understanding of Finance and Financial functions will be highly regarded.

Job Specific Competencies
➢ Excellent spoken and written business English.
➢ Proficient in computer (Excel, Word and Power Point).
➢ Excellent negotiating skills.
➢ Highly presentable with the ability to engage senior management.
➢ Good customer Relations
➢ Must have a strong sales aptitude.
➢ Must be able to communicate very effectively with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
