Our planned housing projects will involve cross-cutting issues with urban development goals, including but not limited to stakeholder engagement, resettlement programmes, environmental impact assesssments and other regulatory committments.
The role of a community relations officer is a varied one that combines elements of relationship building, stakeholder management, conflict resolution and volunteer coordination. The job involves travelling a lot, meeting different stakeholders and people and resolving conflicts, social issues and identified community impasses. The key objective is to nurture meaningful relationships with key community groups.
JOB RESPONSBILITIES
- To be responsible for the community relations programs of the company and implementing community outreach programs, organizing events, town hall meetings and publicity stunts
- Ensuring that the outreach missions are meeting their objectives and staying within the company’s policy
- Nurturing relationships between the company and its constituents, cohort customers, and the virtual communities
- Ensuring that the outreach missions are meeting their objectives and staying within budget.
- Use media events, public events, and group activities to portray a positive image on behalf of the organization.
- Resolving conflicts, misunderstandings the company may have with its various constituents and manage the relationship with community members and other key stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with members of the community
QUALIFICATION
- Degree in development studies, sociology, social work, community development, economics or public relations
- Knowledge of community psychology and experience designing programs that meet the goals of outreach programs.
– Great interpersonal skills, which should include community relations
