PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Job Purpose

To provide support and coordinate production team performance to a quality standard, schedule, and efficiency, as well as facilitates the achievement of team goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

(a) Conducts routine inspections of equipment and monitor reaction parameters

(b) Prepares production, progress or changeover reports to the following production team and shift supervisors

(c) Initiates clear and concise communication within and between work groups and shifts

(d) Ensures safe completion of assignments on schedule while meeting or exceeding quality standards

(e) Assists with training, developing and coaching of new employees

(f) Assists during routine maintenance and cleaning of the production equipment.

(g) Coordinates the coverage and flexing of subordinates for absences and the distribution of work assignments.

(h) Assists in the control of tool and equipment as well as helping to coordinate equipment repair.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Diploma in Production Management or its equivalent
• Minimum 3 years work experience in relevant field
• Familiarity with safety and techniques relating to production is a PLUS
• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Physical ability to climb stairs/ladders and work from elevated platforms.
