We are hiring!

Our client in the Copperbelt is looking for a Superintendent Drill Rigs & Utilities Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the mining industry.

Job Purpose: To ensure and support the Mining Operations by repairing, and maintaining the availability of all Surface drill rigs, Dozers, Air Compressors, Jackhammers, Dewatering Pumps and Generators deployed in the Mine site.

Principle Accountabilities

  • The superintendent will be held responsible for the complete planning & execution of various
  • maintenance activities to improve the availability (90%) and reliability of the equipment within the budgeted maintenance cost.
  • Enforce the company’s SHEQ Policy.
  • Responsible for ensuring all the statutory requirements are strictly followed as per standard norms at the Engineering department.
  • Responsible to maintain statutory compliances i.e. legal register, IMS compliance, various safety, and environmental compliances etc.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance are followed by conducting periodical inspections to reduce
  • Keep updated fleet maintenance reports (Daily log Breakdown report, Weekly inspection report, Accumulator inspection report, Parts Cannibalize report, Monthly – Parts consumption & inventory report, Hydraulic Drifter status and report daily activities.
  • Responsible for the management of Manpower in an effective manner.
  • Plan and execute the daily work with all workers. Achieve excellence of service, effective manpower utilization and reduced repair time. Ensure equipment/machines are being operated in proper
  • Receive and take immediate action on daily operator checklists from mining supervisors.
  • Ensure the safety of employees, materials, machines and keep the work area clean.
  • Train and help subordinates acquire modern skills in the field of engineering.
  • Periodically check the completion status of all works assigned to subordinates.
  • Provide targets and effectively allocate duties to subordinates.
  • Ensure discipline amongst the workforce and that they follow laid down procedures when executing their duties.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering with min 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in fleet maintenance software and good computer skills.
  • Excellent analytical and evaluation skills.
  • Possession of good leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance.

Must have current certification from EIZ.

Good command of both oral and written communication.
