The Board of Luanshya Technical and Business College (LTBC) under the Ministry of Technology and Science of the Republic of Zambia, situated in Luanshya on the Copper belt Provinceis looking for a high calibre mature person to fill the position of Vice Principal.
LTBC is a TEVETA registered training institution which offers demand driven Technical, Vocational and Business Courses on full-time and Open distance and Flexible Learningbasis. The Institution operates on a Termly Calendar (January-April, May- August, September December) as well as Semester Calendar (January to June, June December) with a student population of 700, of which three quarters reside in the College Hostels.
The College has linkages with Industry through Projects facilitated by the First Quantum Mineral through partnership cemented by the Memorandum of Understanding to train students in mining related fields, whichinclude Electrical, Heavy Equipment Repair and education courses among others.
Further, the College also has linked with the Commonwealth of learning to train 62 Apprentices at Nakadoli Furniture Cooperative in Trade Test programs in Carpentry and Joinery as well as Entrepreneurship.
JOB PURPOSE
To plan, direct, coordinate and control all training programs and general administration of the College. The Vice Principal reports to the Principal
THE JOB HOLDER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Administering efficiently and effectively the training programs of the institution; and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) in Zambia;
- Reporting regularly and whenever appropriate to the Principal on the technical performance of the institution; and
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent;
- Post graduate Diploma in Education and teaching experience;
- Master’s Degree and professional knowledge in Human Resource and Financial Management or a relevant field will be an added advantage;
- At least five (05) years’ experience at Senior Management level (i.e. Vice Principal, Deputy Director and Head of Department); and
- At least 35 years old but less than sixty (60) years of age.
