CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The University of Lusaka is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates with a field in accounting to play an important role in the shaping of the future development in the School of Business, Economics, and Management on full-time basis as a Lecturer. The candidate should be highly motivated and passionate about making a mark in the education sector in respect of the following courses;
1) Financial Accounting
2) Cost Accounting
3) Management Accounting
Qualifications
To be considered for these positions one must have the following qualifications;
- A Bachelor of Accountancy Degree or full ACCA, CIMA and CA.
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching/Lecturing Methodology.
- A PhD in these particular fields will be an added advantage.
- Five (5) years industrial experience in these fields of study will be added advantage.
- At least five (5) years’ experience of lecturing at tertiary level.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
- Provide lectures for the above mentioned courses.
- Develop and improve course outlines and teaching materials for the assigned courses.
- Carry out research and publish materials.
- Supervising both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students’ research work.
- Prepare lesson plans at the start of each semester for the assigned courses.
Key Qualities and skills:
- Self-motivated and resourceful with strong intellectual ability.
- Ability to research and create new knowledge.
- Should be a goal-getter and a team player.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be articulate and have strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of planning and organizing skills.
- Must be familiar with Moodle e-learning platform or other e-learning platforms.
- Passionate about teaching and research.
