Our client is a leading financial institution seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting processes of the organization, including tax-related services.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and reports for the organization in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts, including performing regular audits of accounts.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization to provide financial information and analysis to support business decisions.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with tax planning and forecasting.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
Requirements:
- Level III ACCA, ZICA, CIMA; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 -5 years of experience in financial accounting and tax-related services.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International financial reporting standards (IFRS), and tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with financial reporting systems and software. (working knowledge of pastel accounting package will be an added advantage)
