Facility & Site Operations Manager Oydc Zambia Sports Development Centre

Job Purpose
Facilities & Site Operations Manager will oversee all building-related activities. The manager will also be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning. He/she will ensure that the site is performing according to company standards and are achieving set goals on time. The Facility & Site Operations Manager will spend most of their time overseeing operations, conducting routine inspections, implementing company policies, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the site is performing according to company standards and are achieving set goals on time.
  • optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs.
  • Plan and coordinate all installations (borehole pumps, aircons, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
  • Ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • Supervise all facilities staff (cleaners, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors.
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
  • Allocate office space according to needs.
  • Handle insurance plans and service contracts
  • Keep financial and non-financial records related to facilities.
  • Perform analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensuring that the Centre is clean and facility are safe for use.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Accountability

  • Takes ownership of all responsibilities and honors commitments
  • Supports team members, provide oversight and takes responsibility for delegated assignments.
  • To deliver outputs for which one has responsibility within prescribed time, cost and quality standard.
  • Operates in compliance with OYDC rules and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering, business, or related field.
  • Must have at least 4 – 5 years in a similar management role.
  • Must have a valid Engineering Institute of Zambia membership Certificate or valid practicing license.
  • Proven work experience in a similar role.
  • High-level communication and networking skills.
  • Understanding of commercial trends and marketing strategies.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
