Intern – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning – MEAL Keepers Zambia Foundation

Keepers Zambia Foundation is a Local NGO established in 1996 and has been implementing livelihood improvement projects for the past 26 years. Over 70 projects and programmes have been implemented since inception reaching out to over 300,000 households. This is in response to some of the challenges listed below that affect most people in Zambia, especially the rural population:

1. Inequitable access to resources and Basic Services,

2. Climate change and injustice

3. Inadequate support and participation in Environment and Natural resources management and governance.

With support from various donors, KZF would like to engage the services of an Intern Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer reporting to the Senior Programs Manager.

Position Overview:

The overall responsibility for the MEAL officer will be designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans, developing data collection tools, analyzing data, and reporting on program results. And will also work closely with program staff to ensure that data is collected accurately, stored and used to inform program decisions.

Duties:

1. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Collecting, entering and analyzing data to track the progress of a program.
  • Participate in field visits to ensure quality of data and information gathered
  • Conduct data quality assessments and provide feedback to field teams for improvement.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of a program and identifying areas for improvement.

2. Accountability:

  • Ensuring that the program is transparent and accountable to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of feedback and response systems.

3. Learning and Capacity building:

  • Identifying and sharing best practices and lessons learned to improve future programs.
  • Engage in learning opportunities to enhance skills and understanding of MEAL practices.
  • Contribute to the development of project proposals, ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of logical frameworks and results frameworks for proposed projects.

4. Reporting:

  • Ensure strict timely review and submission of donor reports.
  • Contribute to the development of case studies and success stories.
  • Collaborate with program teams to gather information for donor reports.
  • Support the Senior Programs Manager in synthesizing data and findings into comprehensive reports.

5.Documentation:

  • Organize and maintain a comprehensive filing system for MEAL documents.
  • Support in archiving and documenting project achievements and lessons learned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have a minimum Diploma level of education in either of the following field:

  • Development studies, Social Sciences, Project Management or any other related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excel and Power Point applications.
  • Age of not more than 35years.
