About the role:

Our client; a private equity firm, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of the firm and its portfolio companies, driving financial performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and investment management, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute the financial strategies of the firm, aligning with overall business objectives and investment goals.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial insights to guide investment decisions.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and investors.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Present financial performance and forecasts to the executive team and investors.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Implement robust internal controls and risk management processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.

Capital Management and Fund Administration:

  • Manage capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow to optimize returns and support investment activities.
  • Coordinate fundraising efforts and investor relations activities, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
  • Oversee fund administration, including capital calls, distributions, and financial reporting to limited partners.

Portfolio Company Support:

  • Partner with portfolio company management teams to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Assist in structuring financing arrangements and evaluating exit strategies for portfolio investments.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in executive or leadership roles in finance
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • International finance experience will be an advantage
  • Proven experience in finance, accounting, or investment management, with a focus on private equity or investment banking.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment principles, and valuation techniques.
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions and investor relations

Compensation:

The incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
