Registered Midwife
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out planned care for patients without direct supervision.
- Individualized patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical observations of the patient and act accordingly.
- Administration of medicines to patients according to prescribed procedure.
- Monitor patient progress in order to work towards safe and timely discharge plans.
- Act as the patient’s advocate.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Recognize patient needs and prioritize those needs with the needs outlined by the
- Medical Officer/Consultant.
- Assist and advise staff in the delivery of patient care.
- Undertake nursing procedures.
Qualifications/ Experience and Skills
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Registered Nurse/ Mid wife with a Degree/Advanced Diploma in Nursing
- Licensed with the General Nursing Council of Zambia/Midwifery Association of Zambia
- 3 years’ experience in a busy health care facility.
