Job Purpose:
The Sales and Marketing Officer will oversee and drive OYDC’s sales by designing and implementing targeted marketing strategies. He/she will drive sales by designing and implementing targeted marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for maintaining customer relationships, tracking sales data and creating performance reports.
- Work with various departments to generate an annual marketing plan.
- Planning and execution of social media promotional campaigns to boost followers’ engagements.
- Plan, prepare and manage the publication and distribution of publicity materials
- Manage all branding needs of the organization
- Provide marketing content for use in digital platforms and traditional media
- Negotiating contracts and drafting Memorandums of Understanding with potential clients
- Coordinate with outside agencies for the creation of quality marketing materials
- To Identify areas for improvement in products offering, marketing tactics/strategy and promotional activities.
- Formulate and implement marketing strategies
- Research and analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and other information that affects marketing strategies
- Maintains the department’s budget and ensures all marketing activities are cost-effective
- Work closely with the communications officer in information dissemination to key stakeholders
- Organize events and exhibitions for the promotion of products and capturing of potential markets
- Prepare monthly and quarterly departmental reports
- Identify new market segments and strategize how to enter to serve them profitably
- Identify potential sponsors, negotiate and secure sponsorships for sports teams and events
- Track sales data to ensure the company meets sales quotas.
- Create and present sales performance reports.
- Any other duties as assigned by the CEO/or Senior Management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
- Must have at least 2-3 years of Sales and Marketing in the service sector
- Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)
- Proven work experience as a sales and marketing executive.
- Knowledge of modern marketing techniques.
- High-level communication and networking skills.
- A passion for sales.
- Understanding of commercial trends and marketing strategies.
- Good project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure
