Food and Beverage Manager Legacy Hilltop Africa Limted

Legacy Hilltop Africa Limited (the Lodge) is a faith-based, Christian Organization. The property, which is situated in Meanwood, off Great East Road, is comprised of Guest accommodation, Restaurant and Conference facilities.

We are seeking to hire qualified candidate for the position of Food & Beverage Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To supervise and coordinate daily operation of the restaurant
  • Oversee the dining area, supervises food and beverage staff in accordance with the operating policies.
  • Handle guest complaints in restaurant
  • Ensures product quality and great service
  • Checks the quality of food in the restaurant
  • Able to forecast restaurant needs
  • Ensures proper food presentation and proper food handling procedures
  • Preparation of any sales promotion
  • Develop and maintain all the sections control procedures
  • Ensures that the staff accurately uses the point of sale terminal and all bills are posted correctly
  • Ensures food and beverage orders are taken according to the Guest preference and that the orders are delivered on time
  • Supervising and coordinate daily operation of meeting/banquet setups and service
  • Controlling of the banquet china, cutlery, glassware, linen and equipment
  • Completion of Banquet delivery sheets in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Consistent check of banquet Food & Beverage quality and banquet services and plate presentation
  • Ensures quality of meeting room set up
  • Ensuring all services meet customer expectation
  • Inspection of meeting room prior to guest arrival ensuring that client specifications have been met
  • To coordinate with all large group meeting/banquet their specific group requirements with the services and facilities offered
  • To confirm all details relative to group functions with the reservation’s coordinator.
  • Maintaining the hotel bar policies
  • Ensures the ordering and purchases of all bar stocks
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by the government liquor regulations.
  • Inspect all aspects of the outlet environment ensuring compliance with standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Responsible for the creation of cocktail menus and update menus changes on the POS terminal.
  • Ensure par levels for the supplies, liquor, beer, wine and equipment
  • Regular check of storage areas for proper supplies, organizations and cleanliness

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management. A Degree will be an added advantage
  • 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role with an upscale Hospitality environment
  • In depth knowledge of the Food Industry
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Exceptional Organisational, Leadership and Communication skills
