ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR – ZAMHATCH FEEDMILL MPONGWE X (1)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A technical supervisory role whose jobholder is accountable to the Senior Factory Supervisor for carrying out repair, maintenance and installation work, on plant / machinery and equipment and according to standard practices and procedures. The post holder carries out the following:

• Procures job request’s involving the breakdown of machinery / equipment in the factory, physically checks same and diagnoses faults to determine cause, and extent of damage and material requirements to repair.
• Organises controls and provides the requisite co-ordination, technical guidance / direction and instructions in all repair, maintenance and installation work of plant / machinery and equipment as well as physical checks to ensure strict adherence to engineering specifications and safety standards.
• Undertakes repair work involving stripping, checking, removing / replacing worn out parts and checking general electrical conditions of same in order to ensure continuous operations and achieve production targets.
• Executes planned maintenance schedules by carrying out servicing/ maintenance work, involving the changing of electrical components/fixtures and checking electrical condition of same in order to prevent electrical failure and tear and enhance prolonged life.
• Carries out test runs of machinery / equipment, repaired / maintained to determine quality of the workmanship prior to handing over the same, to the superior for further tests and finally hand over to the end user.
• Prepares lists of spares / materials required and submits same to superior and completes Job Cards reports on all work carried out highlighting work done. Spares / materials consumption, downtime etc. for the attention of the superior.
• Train, motivates and develop subordinates in line with company manpower policies through superior on the job training to enable same acquire knowledge and skills required.
• Will be responsible for maintaining the quality and feed safety management system

Qualifications and Experience

•  5 acceptable `O` Levels
•  Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
•  3 years’ relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required

• Ability to use mechanical tools.
• Interacts with superior and subordinates, requiring tact.
• Completes proforma type documents.
•  Mathematical calculations for tolerances, calculations of quantities, etc.
