TAX ACCOUNTANT CUSTOMS SERVICES(TRAINEE) – HEAD OFFICE

Required Skills for this Role Include:

The primary purpose of the Trainee Tax Accountant – Customs Services, is to assist with the management of imports and exports to ensure completeness of entries for all imports and exports with respect to the following:

  •  Tax compliance.
  • Data matching – tax reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax declarations; and
  • Secure and retain all documentation relating to Customs and Excise Duty as provided in the tax legislation.
  • To closely work with procurement and trade payables functions of the business to ensure payments for imports are secured and attached to import documents.
  • To work with sales teams to ensure that export documents are secured and retained as provided under VAT Rule 18, as amended.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all Entities/ divisions.

Required Qualifications are:

  • Diploma/Degree in Clearing and Forwarding and a Member of ZICA.
  • Recent Graduate with less than one year of experience under internship/attachment.
  • Knowledge of basic tax principles with respect to imports and exports, within the business environment.
